Mzuni booked a semifinal berth in the Airtel Top 8 after forcing a one-all draw against Civil Sporting Club at Civil Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The two sides played a goalless draw in the first leg last week at Mzuzu Stadium so Mzuzu progressed on away goal rule.
Civil seemed to have progressed to the last four when substitute Lanken Mwale netted in the 83rd minute but Mzuni levelled a minute later through Maxwell Gasten.
Civil dominated the first half while the visitors had an upper hand in the closing half.
Mzuni will face Karonga United in the semifinal.
The students coach Gilbert Chirwa showered praise on his players for soaking up early pressure.
“Civil has assembled a very good team but I told my players to give their all. And they managed to level the score-line. That was some character,” he said.
Civil coach Franco Ndawa said they lost control of the midfield which cost their game.
“However, in the end we lost as a team and not as individuals. So I cannot blame anyway for the loss,” he said.
