Flames coach Meke Mwase has recalled Nyasa Big Bullets midfielder Chimango Kayira ahead Saturday’s CHAN qualifier match against Eswatini.
Addressing a media conference at the Mpira village on Friday morning, Mwase said Kayira has been recalled as a backup following numerous withdraws due to injuries.
Midfielder Chikoti Chirwa got injured on Thursday and will undergo a late fitness test on Friday afternoon to determine if he is going to be available for selection.
Already the team is without five players namely Peter Cholopi, Patrick Phiri, Peter Banda, Alfred Manyozo and Dennis Chembezi who are out due to injuries.
“Chikoti limped out of yesterday’s training due to a knee problem and is undergoing a late fitness test. This is why we have called Kaira as back up. Much as we will miss the key players the rest are in good shape to do the job on Saturday.
“The coming in of Kayira will add value to the team because he is an experienced player who has been with the Flames before.
“ We need a win at all cost on Saturday and we are ready to do the job”, said Mwase.
Striker Chiukepo Msowoya said after the goalless draw in Eswatini, the players have worked hard on improving finishing.
“This is a must-win game and we have to work hard for good results. We have a very good combination of senior players and youngsters . The team has been creating chances, but we have not been able to take them like in Manzini.
“ If we are to be a competitive team then we must start taking those chances starting on Saturday,” said Msowoya,
